Our Honey

Most Buckingham Valley honeys are an example of a "floral" honey, pulled from Joe Ridgway's hives both here in Buckingham and at a number of farms and other locations throughout Bucks County. Bees typically have a flight radius of 3 miles, and the plants they pollinate have a great effect on the final product. If you notice a difference in taste and or color between two batches, it is very likely that they were drawn from hives at two different Bucks County farms, and that the respective bees were pollinating different Bucks County crops. We're sure they'll both be delicious.
The color and taste of the honey can change from batch to batch, and it also varies by season. Bucks County honey is usually lighter in the spring, and darker in the fall. Our honey is considered raw filtered honey. It is never brought above the temperature in the hive (approx 94 degrees).
